Peter Pilotto used the most incredible palette for this collection. There were various shades of blue and coral. I think the colours are very aquatic. I can imagine seeing these shades down in a coral reef or something. The collection had a mix of futuristic and floral prints with inserts of lace. I loved how a lot of volume was created in the clothes by using structured skirts and wide sleeves. Even though the clothes were voluminous it didn't look manly and overbearing due to the colours and prints which kept it more modern and feminine.
I had never heard of this brand before. Its a London based brand with Australian roots. The creative director of Antipodium said "This collection is about the glory of retail. The consumer is always the best teacher". I don't know what their other collections are like but I don't think they need to be taught what the consumer wants. I mean I am pretty sure this brand seems to already have a pretty good idea what the consumer wants. Just look at the beautiful mix of metallics, florals, checks and blues. I will definitely keep an eye on this brand from now on.
I don't think I have ever looked at any clothing from Markus Lupfer apart from the slogan jumpers. Well if this collection is anything to go by I have been missing out. This collection was all about being a teenage girl with attitude. Oh and she loves cats. It was all about being nostalgic about your youth. There's a lot of pretty florals and lace. However what really stands out to me are the cat prints and slogan tees paired with the girly ensembles. It just makes it a little less girly and more quirky and cool. I want everything from this collection and from my picks this is one of the more wearable selections. The collection makes me wish I was a teenager in the 80's.
Topshop always sets it self apart from other high street brands. I think that other high street brands are great at keeping up with trends however Topshop creates its own trends whilst keeping up with others as well. Topshop Unique's collection silhouette was slouchy whilst still remaining sensual. This is by done by mixing baggy clothes with flashing of skin through crop tops, slips and shorts. They have mixed prints, forrest greens (one of my favourite colours), deep blues and whites. There seems to be a whole 90's and 70's vibe going through out the collection. Personally I like the mixing of elements from different decades.
What are you favourites from these looks?
